Karneval Masques are hand decorated and are featherweight light --- they weigh about an ounce. The inside of the masque is lined in felt for comfort and is stamped with the Karneval "K". Karneval masques are sealed with an Acid Free, Non-Yellowing, protective finish to ensure years of enjoyment. Only a damp cloth is necessary for cleaning. Karneval uses certified AP non-toxic materials.

The decadent custom of concealing one's identify with an elegant maschera (mask) became popular in 12th century Venice. Aristocrats, peasants, even members of the clergy, all sought a seductive disguise for participation in promiscuity, gambling, & other indiscretions. Delicate maschera was blamed for society's moral decline and restricted - to be worn only during the mohts of Il Karneval di Venezia.
